It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and after that the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
